Mother Nature Has Treat In Store For Halloween, But Could There Be Trick On Election Day?

A midweek stretch of warmer air will make for perfect trick-or-treat weather on Halloween, but a look ahead at the long-range forecast shows there could be a different story for Election Day.

High temperatures on both Wednesday, Oct. 30, and Thursday, Nov. 1, will be in the mid to upper 70s, with sunny skies on both days.

According to the National Weather Service, the workweek will start with cool conditions and a mix of sun and clouds on Monday, Oct. 28, with a high temperature in the upper 50s.

Clouds will increase on Tuesday, Oct. 29, as temperatures begin to climb, reaching the low 60s.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, and Halloween, on Thursday, Oct. 31, to near record highs. That's a big change from last year when trick-or-treaters had to contend with chilly, damp conditions, with snow flurries in some spots.

High temperatures on Wednesday will be in the low to mid-70s, and Thursday will be in the mid to upper 70s. Both days will have sunny skies, and it will be breezy on Thursday.

"We're looking at a lot of mild weather overall during the day on Halloween, with some places being downright warm," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said.

The workweek will wrap up with partly sunny skies on Friday, Nov. 1, as the calendar flips to November. The high will be in the upper 60s.

It will be time to "fall back" for the end of Daylight saving time, setting clocks back an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 3.

Looking ahead to next week, a system is expected to bring rain and showers, possibly sometime during Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, or, if it arrives later, on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
